  Laid back, yet classy atmosphere. Waiting staff is young, but not entirely vapid. Great food, strong drinks.

  I'd been wanting to try them out for awhile and finally got a chance. Walked in to a busy restaurant, nobody there to greet so we just sat down at an open table. Waitress walks by and says that table is reserved and every other spot is taken. So we wait a few minutes for some seats at the bar, and THEN it took forever to get the bartender's attention. You see, we weren't young, attractive college students, so they got priority. Every time we wanted something, it was a struggle. Finally, one of the attractive people next to us got the bartender's attention to tell him that we were ready for our check. Apparently, this is pretty common practice from what I hear asking around town. If you're not a 7+, you'll probably be ignored. And that's a really terrible way to run a business.
  
  Meanwhile the food was really really good. So there is that.

  Usually have a nice time at Room 38. Sunday brunch is usually pretty nice.
  
  BUT TODAY. The situation was handled completely irresponsibly and negligently. I came in with a party of 6 and made a reservation for 12:30pm. When my party and I arrived the hostess told us that our reservation was for 12:45pm--an error on her part. This apparently isn't the first time the staff have mishandled reservation times.
  
  A birthday party was sitting at our table we had reserved and had no intention of moving or finishing up anytime soon. We waited for 45 minutes on a reservation that was already incorrectly entered in the system.
  Then the other party and my own got into a slight altercation with another member who RUDELY reached over to place a wine glass on the counter in front of my friend who was sitting down without saying excuse me. Then another member in their party claimed us loudly as "being rude" when we were just sitting peacefully waiting. Very problematic.
  
  When we FINALLY got seated--nearly an hour later, the supposed owner came over and blamed the whole ordeal on us. Our server was nice, she apologized to us for the mishap, but the owner did his best white man blaming the people of color routine that day. He said we yelled at the waitstaff--completely untrue and that we had to realize that--in his own problematic ass words--"it's a give and take.." whatever that means. it was completely irrelevant to what happened.
  
  he also laughed in our faces when we were trying to tell him about the situation. Very dismissive and troubling as the so called owner of the place.
  
  The fact that he's the owner of this establishment, had no intention of apologizing for HIS staff dropping the ball and blaming US for the whole thing was astounding. No sense of respect or decency for your patrons at all.
  
  It's understandable that Sunday Brunch is probably the busiest day of the work week for Room 38, however good customer service and decency still should be a given.
  
  Sad to say we probably won't be returning here--even though the business will continue as usual--operating with the same problematic and negligent customer service of SOME, not all inside the business.
  
  Terrible.
